The 3.5 Cubic Foot HP-Series Blast Pot is the right equipment for high production applications where an operator is frequently activating and deactivating the remote control switch during operator repositioning. The pressure-hold remote control system allows the vessel to remain pressurized when the remote control switch is deactivated. This eliminates the time waiting for the vessel to depressurize and pressurize, increasing production rates. This system also reduces abrasive consumption by stopping the abrasive flow in the abrasive metering valve before it enters the air stream, greatly reducing “abrasive chugging” at activation. HP-Series Blast Pots are commonly used in applications such as; blast rooms, blast yards, oil refineries, pipelines, storage tanks, and bridges.
The Maxum III Abrasive Metering Valve is a normally-closed valve for use on a blast pot with a pressure-hold remote control system. The Maxum III Abrasive Metering Valve precisely regulates the flow of very fine to very coarse abrasives. The Maxum III Abrasive Metering Valve comes in two piping sizes; 1-1/4” and 1-1/2”, and two sleeve designs; a Urethane Sleeve for rounded and sub-angular abrasives, or a Tungsten Carbide Sleeve for aggressive angular abrasives. In the non-blasting position, the Maxum III Abrasive Metering Valve remains in the closed position, stopping the flow of abrasive from exiting the blast pot. When the remote control system is activated, an air signal is sent to the Maxum III Abrasive Metering Valve, opening the valve, allowing abrasive to flow from the blast pot. When the remote control system is deactivated, the Maxum III Abrasive Metering Valve closes and stops the flow of abrasive from exiting the blast pot.
